Product title: too long, capitals, phrases and emoji
A product title is 200 characters long, shouts in capitals or starts with “SALE!!!”. Google wants a title that describes the product, not advertises it. It is one of the most common things Basketly fixes in a feed by itself.

The message you see
A warning about the [title], such as a text that is too long or promotional; wording varies with the interface version.
Google Merchant Center → Products → Diagnostics, on the product.
What Basketly does
Basketly fixes these automatically in the feed: it shortens the title, writes it as a sentence, removes emoji and sales phrases. So it changes the title in the served file, not in the shop.
Why Google flags it
The title is what a buyer reads in results and the ad. Google treats promotional phrases, capitals and symbols as attempts to draw attention, and price and delivery information belongs in separate attributes. Capitals are common in spam, so they lower trust.
How Basketly handles it
- Fixes automatically: length over 150 characters, capitals (sentence case; words with digits, short words without vowels and abbreviations such as LED or USB stay, the brand keeps its spelling), emoji and repeated “!” and “?”, sales phrases (“promocja”, “gratis”, “-30%”).
- Only flags (tips): a title under 25 characters and a title without the brand.
- “Zaproponuj tytuł”: where available it asks for 1–3 better titles that Basketly checks with the same checks; nothing is saved until you press “Zastosuj”.
- The fixes change the file served to platforms. The title in the shop stays as it is.
How to fix a product title by hand
A good title has the brand, the product type and a feature buyers search by.
Shorten to 150 characters
Put the most important words first, because Google may cut the end.
Remove phrases and symbols
Delete “sale”, “free”, emoji and exclamation marks. Keep prices and discounts in price and sale_price.
Write it as a sentence
Replace CAPITALS with normal writing. Abbreviations (USB, LED) may stay.
Add the brand and a feature
Add the brand, the product type and one feature, such as colour or size.
What Basketly does not do
- It does not change the title in the shop; it fixes the file served to platforms.
- AI suggestions do not save themselves and count against the organisation’s daily budget.
- It does not guarantee approval or a higher position.
