Availability “in stock” at quantity 0
In the feed a product has availability “in stock” but its quantity is 0. Platforms compare the feed with the product page, so such a product may be flagged as a mismatch or shown to buyers who cannot buy it.
The demo has sample data; the login comes to your e-mail.
The message you see
A message about an availability mismatch between the feed and the product page, on the [availability] attribute; wording varies with the interface version.
Google Merchant Center → Products → Diagnostics; Meta Commerce Manager, catalogue diagnostics.
What Basketly does
Basketly detects this mismatch as a warning and sets “out of stock” in the feed, but only when the feed gives a quantity.
Why a platform flags it
An ad for a product that cannot be bought wastes budget and spoils the buyer’s experience. That is why Google compares the feed’s availability with what the buyer sees on the page. If the page says “out” and the feed “in stock”, the platform treats the data as inconsistent.
How Basketly handles it
- Products: the “availability “in stock” at quantity 0” check (a warning) shows the quantity that triggered it. Out-of-stock products have a separate info note, outside the score.
- Automatic feed fixes turn Polish words into Google’s values and set availability from quantity; an unknown word is left as it is.
- The fix works only when the feed gives a quantity. Without one availability stays as the shop gives it.
- A missing availability date on a preorder or backorder is an error the fixes do not repair.
How to fix availability by hand
The stock in the shop should be the source of truth.
Check the stock in the shop
Compare the product’s stock in the shop with what the product page shows.
Sync availability with quantity
Set the product to unavailable in the shop when the stock is 0, or turn on automatic hiding of such products.
Add quantity to the feed
If the feed gives no quantity, add it in the export so Basketly can set availability from it.
Preorder and backorder
Give an availability date and show it on the product page.
What Basketly does not do
- It does not read the product page: it compares availability with the quantity in the feed, not with the page.
- Without a quantity in the feed it cannot work out availability.
- It does not guarantee the mismatch disappears after the feed is fetched.
